Orange Halloween-Themed Traveler’s Notebook

As much as I love my purple traveler’s notebook, I couldn’t let Halloween go by without using a more “traditional” orange Halloween-themed traveler’s notebook. I really wanted to use a variety of elements for this Halloween, so you will find more cutesy Halloween images.

Traveler's Notebook Dashboard Ideas

The company I purchased this traveler’s notebook from is no longer shipping them but there are a number of other companies to order from. But, when I saw this colour in my Instagram feed, I couldn’t resist this bright orange cover for Halloween. I also love it as it’ll be great for a Fall setup (if Halloween isn’t your thing).

Halloween Traveler's Notebook Dashboards

You can find a flip-through video on my YouTube channel, as well as some dashboard tutorials. I used some very simple techniques to add life and texture to the dashboards. I’ve included a video below, showing a flip-through of my Kids Accessorized clear traveler’s notebook (where I used the same colours and similar techniques).

Supplies

The supplies I used are all available from Michael’s Craft Stores (apart from some stamp sets). These become available at a deep discount once the season comes to an end, so it’s a great time to stock up.

  • Traveler’s Notebooks:
    • Pumpkin Leather Traveler’s Notebook with Wrap in B6
    • Clear Traveler’s Notebook from Kids Accessorized in B6
  • Recollections (Michael’s):
    • Hocus Pocus paper pads in 12 x 12 and 6 x 6

I’ve uploaded a tutorial for 3 of the dashboards I’ve created that you can check out here.

Traveler's Notebook Dashboard Inspiration

Tips and Tricks

As you can see, I used a lot of different supplies, mostly because I have them so I want to use them. I like the effect of the different sized fonts throughout the notebooks as this creates different visual elements and interest. But you could create the same effect by printing directly onto the scrapbook paper. You could also purchase alphabet stickers or, if you have a die cutting machine, cut some letters out to glue.

I primarily used distress inks for backgrounds and to create generic shadow effects. You could use any stamp pad or pencil to create the same shadows.

Halloween Dashboards

I’ve learned that you can make these as complicated or as simple as you want. I hope these tutorials inspire you but also allow you to see how simple something can be by making the smallest additions or changes to an element.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to me. I love sharing knowledge. It’s because of people in this community and knowledge sharing (as well as a TON of practice), that helped me get to where I am.

Thank you for your time today.
