March Bullet Journal Setup 2021

March Bullet Journal Setup

The end of February is near which means it’s time for a March Bullet Journal Setup 2021. My March Bullet Journal Setup theme is doors and keys. I pulled inspiration from the Mediterranean style doors on Pinterest, and drew vintage skeleton keys. These stickers are available to email subscribers for free download, and also available for purchase in the Shop. I have posted a bullet journal setup video for you to watch as well.

You will see, I’ve used a lot of the same layouts in this setup as I have used in the past. The biggest difference is my cover page. I did get a bit extra when putting that together. There will be a tutorial about the dissolving pull tab posted soon. In the meantime, you can check out this pull tab tutorial.

But let’s get started with my March Bullet Journal Setup 2021.

March Bullet Journal Setup Tips and Tricks

I had a really hard time putting these pages together. I tried a whole bunch of different techniques and would end up having to redo it because I was unhappy. The cover page started off with elements done with watercolour. Thankfully, the watercolour was light so I was able to colour over it.

With that said, instead of having to grab a watercolour paint, I just used my Tombow Dual Brush Pens and a water brush pen. Super easy, super convenient. I did do the background of my cover page using this technique and it gave the Mediterranean effect I was going for.

My product MVP was definitely my white Sakura Gelly Roll. I made SO many mistakes while setting this up. Thankfully, I was able to just cover it up with the gel pen.

Other than the cover page, I kept the rest of my layouts simple and followed my tried and true layouts. When you are struggling for inspiration, definitely keep it more simple. Take a breather, remember why you’re doing this, and keep going.

Overall, I wouldn’t say this is my favourite setup I’ve done so far. I had to rewrite this blog post since experiencing some technical issues, so I’ve had some time to sit with this theme. On the one hand, I feel like I tried too hard and just missed the mark. On the other hand, I think I am just bored of the layouts.

I feel like everyone is struggling at the moment and it’s definitely been hard to stay focused and motivated. As I mentioned, this is the second time I’m writing this, a month after I published the first. I am changing somethings up for my April setup. My cover page is still over the top, but creative bullet journaling is my therapy. The more creative and overtop my layouts, the more I am struggling. It’s a weird relationship but I found this is how it works and being creative helps.

Let me know if you are going through the same struggles. Hopefully we can get back to enjoying ourselves soon!
