2018 One Little Word: Calm

One Little Word: Calm

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful break and are ready to take on 2018.

One Little Word Project

Now, I am not much of a New Year’s resolutions person but this year I came across the One Little Word Project. Ali Edwards hosts this project – the same lady behind December Daily. I had such a great time with December Daily (only have a couple more pages to finish), that I decided to jump in on One Little Word.

The One Little Word project reminds you to incorporate your chosen word into your life throughout the year. Ali Edwards and her team send you prompts every month to help you with this process. It’s $26 to enter and you can use whatever medium you want. I am using a Recollections 6 ring binder and a paper pad I purchased from Michaels. Other people in the group are using bullet journals, Traveler’s Notebooks, or even the binders and supplies that Ali sells. Ali doesn’t overtly push her own products onto you other than her products and work are beautiful so you want to buy it!

This type of introspection and consciousness is WAY outside of my comfort zone, but with everything happening this year, I thought I may as well try to avoid last year’s emotional and physical turmoil. So with all that in mind, I have chosen the word calm. I want to work on approaching everything this year with a sense of calm. I was pretty happy with what I thought was a simple concept.

Then we received our first prompt! It requires some research and understanding of our word and how it can be applied to our lives – what it means to us. I was instantly overwhelmed and uncomfortable. This requires more honesty than I was ready for.

But, as with everything I have embraced over the last few months, I have decided to proceed. I’m hoping to share my project on the blog and I hope you follow along. I am approaching it from a memory keeping standpoint using pocket pages this time!

If you have any interest in this or have any questions relating to this project, let me know in the comments. Or you can send me an email and I will be happy to respond!
